İzmir Resim ve Heykel Müzesi

İzmir Resim Heykel Müzesi ve Galerisi, 9 Eylül 1952 yılında Kültürpark içerisinde İzmir Devlet Güzel Sanatlar Galerisi olarak değişimle hizmete açıldı.Daha sonra Atatürk Bulvarı'ndaki yerine taşınan galeri, plastik sanatlar alanında devletin İzmir'e yaptığı ilk hizmetlerden biridir. Galerinin açılması ile birlikte İzmir'de yaşayan sanatçılar eserlerini sergileme imkanı bulurken, aynı zamanda her yıl düzenlenen Devlet Sergileri de kente gelmeye başladı. 1973 yılı, İzmir Devlet Güzel Sanatlar Galerisi için önemli değişikliklerin olduğu bir yıldır. Müdürlük görevini yürüten sanatçı Turgut Pura'nın çabalarıyla, Galeri Müze'ye dönüştü ve Konak'taki yeni binasına taşındı.
