(January 18, 2014, 12:18 pm)Between 1933 and 1940, the director Ali Rıza Yalkın collected many ethnographical items through purchase or court order. The museum moved to its present location on January 5, 1972.

(January 18, 2014, 12:16 pm)In 1950, the museum moved to the ethnography museum in Kuruköprü. At this location, ruins from Tarsus-Gözlükkule, İçel-Yumuktepe, Ceyhan-Sirkeli and Yüreğir-Misis were collected.

(January 18, 2014, 12:11 pm)This museum contains historical ruins from Cilicia, Çukurova and Adana. It was established in 1924 after the declaration of the Turkish Republic, making it one of the Turkey's ten oldest museums.
